Garry has had nearly 30 years of business experience spanning both the corporate world and start-ups. He has successfully grown five businesses across a variety of industries, is an active angel investor with significant board-level experience, and has a passion for internet businesses and mentoring start-up founders.
He currently serves as a General Partner in the Sydney Seed Fund - an early stage investment fund investing in Australia's most passionate tech founders; co-founder and Chairman of RecruitLoop, an award-winning global platform to automate and outsource parts of the recruitment process on-demand; Chairman of Oneflare, Australia's fastest growing local services marketplace; co-founder and Director of The Fresh Venture Group, a multi award-winning corporate services company and past Chairman of DesignCrowd - the largest online marketplace for graphic design in the world;.
Garry holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) in Computing from University of Technology, Sydney. He has been a judge and guest speaker in the AGSM Entrepreneurship class and is an active mentor at UNSW Student Entrepreneurs, H2 Ventures Fintech Accelerator, Sydney University's Incubate Accelerator Programme and a Global 100 Top rated mentor for the Founder Institute.
Vicky Lay is a former entrepreneur turned venture capitalist and is passionate about uncapping human potential, supporting entrepreneurship and getting Australia on the global startup map. At 22, she co-founded Zookal.com - a Silicon Valley venture-backed e-learning and textbook rental company that was named by BRW as one of their top-ten start-ups of 2011. As their Chief Operations Officer, Vicky successfully scaled the business 10x year on year. Currently she serves as the Director of Venture Capital Research at Artesian Venture Partners - an early-stage venture capital business with offices in Australia, Singapore, Shanghai, New York and London. There she is mapping the Australian startup ecosystem and decoding the DNA of entrepreneurial success. She also serves on the board of non-profit organisations fostering youth empowerment.
Benjamin has a track record of investing in and building successful Internet-related businesses over the last fifteen years. These include Online Agility, an incubator and developer of online concepts, and Jetabroad, one of Australia's leading online travel companies. Benjamin has served on the boards of a number of portfolio companies.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales with First Class Honours, Benjamin began his career consulting in the areas of ecommerce strategy, online marketing, and technology for major clients such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Volvo, Sony, and Toyota. Benjamin was named National Young Business Person of the Year by Young Achievement Australia and is a member of the Entrepreneurs' Organisation, the Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCAL), and Sydney Angels.
Benjamin serves as the co-director of the Founder Institute in Sydney.
